The game

An idle game about the infrastructure behind AGI

The servers, the power draw, the cooling, the payroll, the orbital relays, and the handful of decisions that actually move it. No tapping. Just decisions.

Check in. Decide. Close the app.

Nothing in FLOPS rewards you for tapping faster. Your hardware earns Crypto Credits (₿) whether the app is open or closed. What gates your progress is the next choice you make: which server, which research node, when to risk an overclock, when to sell the company and start over stronger.

The rhythm is a few minutes at a time. Open the app to a wallet your datacenter filled while you were away, spend it on the next decision, and close it again. Crypto in the bank earns nothing, and once your balance gets big enough it saturates the market and cuts your production. Hoarding is a trap. Spending is the game.

The FLOPS home screen, with your campus of buildings, your balance and the FLOPS meter toward AGI.

Every facility has a budget

Each site has only so much power, cooling, rack space and staff. Go over and output throttles. So every purchase is an allocation choice:

  • Another server, or the cooling to keep the ones you have from overheating?
  • Hire the engineer who stops incidents, or save for the bigger building?
  • Overclock for a burst of output, knowing it can genuinely fry hardware?
A facility's power screen: draw, capacity and headroom, and the power buildings you can add.

Three things to keep an eye on

Crypto Credits (₿)

What your servers earn and what you spend on hardware, staff and buildings. Watch the net rate: if it turns red, costs are outrunning income.

Research Points

Spent on a branching tech tree with real forks. Some nodes lock out their sibling for good, so your company ends up shaped by what you chose.

FLOPS

Raw compute, once you have GPUs and AI clusters running. It's the meter toward AGI, and the reason everything else exists.

The arc

From a garage to the sun

New systems open as you reach them. When something big unlocks, a short briefing explains why it matters and what to do first.

  1. Homelab

Raspberry Pis, a power strip, a desk fan.

  2. Rack

Bigger servers, real power and cooling, staff.

  3. Datacenter

    Build queues, deep research, incidents.

  4. Cloud & GPU

Lease regions worldwide, run GPU clusters.

  5. AI agents

Bots that buy hardware and fight fires for you.

  6. Orbit

Launch pads, satellites, a relay array at L4.

  7. AGI & beyond

The threshold. Dyson swarms. The long tail.

Things go wrong

A rack overheats because you forgot cooling. A rodent gets into the cabling. Certificates expire. Someone force-pushes to main. Forty-six incidents, most with a quick hands-on minigame: trace the cable, vent the heat, enter the command. Hire the right engineers and they happen less.

Start over stronger

When a run slows down, sell the company. An acqui-hire earns Skill Points for a permanent skill tree; an IPO wipes it all for a bigger payoff. Doctrines change the rules of the next run, not just the numbers.

How to play

Your first ten minutes

A preview of how a new company gets going. The game walks you through it too.

  1. Open your Garage.Tap it on the campus to select it, tap again to open it.
  2. Buy a Raspberry Pi.It starts earning crypto right away, whether the app is open or not.
  3. Add a power strip and a desk fan. Before the next Pi, so new servers aren't throttled. Cooling usually runs out first.
  4. Stack more Pis.Each costs a bit more than the last. Fill your slots and bigger hardware appears.
  5. Take your first upgrades.Under Tech. Cheap early ones multiply everything you own.
  6. Grow into a second site.Buy up the ladder, not out along it. Hire your first staff, and spend your first Research Points.
